History
The history of this company may be traced back to 1963. However, the foundation of the giant OTR tire business was laid with the establishment of American Tire Corporation in 2005.
Subsequently, an identity of these giant OTR tires had to be instituted. Colorado, one of the 50 States of the United States of America, with its distinct name, and equally distinct features was chosen to be the product brand name. From the beginning, Professor Dr. Hengyucius envisioned American Tire Corporation expanding to become a global enterprise establishing the Colorado brand as the name behind cost effective, high quality giant OTR tires.
This expansion came in 2007 when it became the first US-based company to design, develop and deliver 63” super-giant OTR tires after Michelin and Bridgestone. American Tire Corporation rapidly expanded its business to various continents. ATC became a member of the Tire Industry Association and Northwest Mining Association. Colorado tires became a great success in different countries based on their competitive performance, and per-hour cost.
In the midst of its growth and diligent efforts to build Colorado into a global brand, American Tire Corporation experienced setbacks related to it’s name and marketing. American Tire Corporation took a constructive approach, and kept focus on the vision. These setbacks inadvertently proved to assist American Tire Corporation to undertake a change that would serve to achieve both its goal toward a global brand, and global recognition. In 2009, American Tire Corporation became Colorado Tire Corporation.
