All firms will be required to declare products through the Customs Declaration Service as of this date (CDS).<\/h4>\n<h4>CDS is now used to process declarations from Northern Ireland and the Rest of the World and has processed more than one million declarations since going live in 2018.<\/h4>\n<h4>CDS is a critical component of the government&#8217;s aspirations for a world-leading completely digitised border that would facilitate trade and prosperity for UK businesses.<\/h4>\n<h4>This announcement will benefit traders and the border business by providing certainty. HMRC is\u00a0committed to ensuring a seamless transition.<\/h4>\n<h4>CDS was created in conjunction with the border sector over a number of years and will provide a more secure and reliable platform that is capable of growing in pace with the government&#8217;s ambitious trade goals.
